EinleitungDaB wachstumsregulierende Stoffe beim Zust~ndekommen der Tropismen eine wiehtige Rolle spielen, wurde schon seit der Entdeckung der Auxine vermutet. WE~T (1927) und C~OLOD~u (1927 entwickelten etwa gleichzeitig die Vorstellung, dab das verschieden starke Wachstum der gegen/iberliegenden Org~nfMnken beim Photo-und beim Geotropismus dutch eine seitliche Ablenkung des vorh~ndenen Wuehsstoffes zur Sehatten-bzw. zur Unterseite bedingt sei. Diese Auff~ssung wurde dutch die Versuche yon [DOLK (1930[DOLK ( , 1936, DISK~A~ (1934), NAVEZ und ROBI~SO~r (1933) und vA~ DER LAZ~N (1934) gest/itzt, die alle feststellen konnten, dab es in der unteren Organh~tlfte yon horizontMgelegten Pflanzen tats~chlich zu einer Anreicherung yon Wuehsstoff kommt. Aueh Sc~A~K (1957) glaubt, dal~ ein Quertransport yon Auxin eine erhebliche l~olle im Meehanismus der Tropismen spielt. Es l~g nahe, ffir das Zustandekommen einer Wuehsstoffquerversehiebung helm Geotropismus den geoelektrisehen Effekt verantwortlich zu maehen, in dessen Feld eine polare Wanderung der dissozfierten IndolyL3-essigs/~ure (IES) denkbar w~re. Gegen diese Auff~ssung sprechen jedoch Versuche yon A~E~ (]954), der feststellte, dal3 bei Koleoptilen Indolylaeetonitril (IAN), obwohl nieht dissozfierbar, geotropisehe Re~ktionen ebenso wirksam zu induzieren vermag wie die fl-Ind01ylessigs/~ure. Ernste Zweifel an der Theorie der Wuchsstoffquerversehiebung sind abet vor allem dureh geotropisehe Versuche mit r~dioaktivem Wuchsstoff (R~is~]~ 1957, CgI~r und FAnG 1958, REISE~ und Slly[ON 1960 und dureh entspreehende phototropisehe Versuehe yon Bt~I.~o, REISE-~E~, WEYO~n, Sx~o~ und KLEBE (1956), und yon Gon~o~ und E~B (1956 ~ufgekommen. Dek~pitierte Avenakoleoptilen wurden Mlseitig mit 2~C-markierter IES versorgt, sodann geotropiseh oder phototropiseh gereizt. Dabei w~r kein me~barer Untersehied in der l~dioaktivit~t der Ober-und Unterh~lfte bzw. Licht-und Sehattenfl~nke festzustellen.
