The shadow puppet performance conveys its story to the viewers through its visual language. The aim of this research is to reveal the visual language of the gesture effects in the shadow images of the shadow puppet performance of Yogyakarta. Visual language stands for the representative images that are similar to the original objects and the way to draw it. In the case of shadow puppet performance of Yogyakarta, Central Java, Indonesia, the way to draw the images correlated to the space-time-plane system of drawing. The space-time-plane system has the characteristic to have multiple angles, distances and moments. The results of this research were each movements of the main puppet character determine it own body language.

The resultsobtained in its development were, batik cloth with sacred motifs, became profane because of thelack of understanding of the concep to motives in the younger generation. Then in itsdevelopment,the batik cloths not only became profane but became material forother things to use, such as;negligee, casualpants, vacationclothes, hotel sandals, to formal clothes for uniforms andcelebrations.

Perkembangan zaman, lambat laun berdampak pada terkikisnya kebudayaan Indonesia. Hal ini disebabkan karena pengaruh asing dan ketidak tahuan generasi penerus untuk mengenali kebudayaanmasing-masing daerahnya. Sehubungan dengan itu pula, maka sehubungan dengan kebudayaan sebagai system, yang salah satunya adalah, sistem religi, yang berhubungan dengan upacara keagamaan, dan benda-benda atau bangunan-bangunan keagamaan, selain candi-candi, juga makam-makam kuno yang terdapat di seluruh tanah negeri Nusantara. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk Mengetahui hasil analisis rupa pada Makam Kerajaan Madura Barat di Pesarean Sultan Abdul Kadirun di Bangkalan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan beberapa metode penelitian yang mendukung dan membantu mendapatkan data dengan efektif seperti metode observasi dan wawancara. dengan metode tersebut penulis dapat mengetahui hasil penelitian menganalisis bentuk rupa ornamen yang terdapat pada Jinjing Pesarean Sultan Abdul Kadirun, seperti yang disampaikan oleh narasumber bahwa bentuk ornamen jinjing ini seperti mahkota kerajaan yang melambangkan adanya kerajaan, dan juga bentuk flora yaitu daun ketela pohon dan kuncup bunga yang memiliki arti kesederhanaan dan kesuburan.
Akar budaya dapat dilihat dari dua sudut pandang , Pertama yang paling sering adalah melihat akar dari sudut pandang bagaimana budaya itu bersentuhan dengan budaya lain dari jaman ke jaman dalam suatu gaung budaya. Kedua, melihat dari sudut pandang , bahwa budaya berkembang dalam mengantisipasi kondisi lingkungan tempat budaya itu berada, sudut pandang yang disebut loka-budaya.
