One of pandemic effect is that people being afraid to have their regular dental treatment and tends to have their own medication. Dentist and dental nurses as workerin public health provider also afraid on doing dental treatment on a reason highly contamination and transmission of the virus. Delaying aerosol generating procedures is found as the only choice, except for emergency case. However, the uncertainty of pandemic era and dental treatment needs, urge the health workers to have innovation in dental treatment service. Using mobile dental clinic Dinas Kesehatan Kabupaten Langkat di Puskesmas Sambirejo is a solution. The implementation of service activities in mobile dental clinic are mainly in self Protection equipment, SOP in Standart Precaution, sterlisation and aseption and also patients admision flow in pandemic era for health care providers as a way to improve their knowledge in handling patient in pandemic era. The delay of action in dental procedur can be solved by facilitating mobile dental clinic according to standard health protocol. Instead of only reaching rural area, this mobile dental clinic can also be used in narrow building with limited space. The SOP protocol can also be used by dentis and dental nurses to control infection in mobile dental clinic. This article tries to support government in raising the degree of mouth and dental health services in pandemic era.
Abstract-Heat cured acrylic resin has been used as dental prosthetic devices because of its excellent appearance, simple processing technique and easy repair. The absence of filler on acrylic resin causes limitation of flexural strength at the time of use. Fish scales can be used as filler to reinforce the acrylic resin because they contain collagen and hydroxyapatite minerals. This study was designed to evaluate the flexural strength of acrylic resin reinforced with fish scale powder. Thirty samples was made from heat cured acrylic resin sized 65x10x2 mm. Samples were divided into control group and treatment group which is added by fish scale powder in 5% and 10% by weight. Flexural strength of heat cured acrylic resin was tested by using three point bending method. The result shows that the addition of 5% and 10% fish scale powder decreased flexural strength of heat cured acrylic resin. There is significant differences on flexural strength among all groups (p=0.00).The conclusion is fish scale powder in 5% and 10% did not improved the flexural strength of heat cured acrylic resin.
The pressure transmission under denture base may be different based on different artificial teeth. The purpose of this study was to evaluate pressure transmission of acrylic and porcelain artificial teeth on thermoplastic nylon denture base. Mandibular first molar acrylic and porcelain artificial teeth embedded on 15x15x3 mm 3 thermoplastic nylon denture base were evaluated (n=16). A 100 N force was applied on the specimen using universal testing machine and the pressure transmitted under the specimen was observed using pressure transducer. The data were statistically analyzed with Mann-Whitney test (α=.05). Porcelain artificial teeth showed significantly higher pressure transmission than acrylic artificial teeth (P<.05). This study can help dentists to determine the design of dentures, especially in the selection of artificial teeth material.
Pendahuluan: Mahkota sementara harus memiliki ketepatan margin yang baik untuk menjaga kesehatan gingiva dan melindungi gigi dari trauma suhu, kimia, fisik, dan bakteri. Pembuatan mahkota sementara yang paling umum digunakan adalah teknik langsung dan tidak langsung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh teknik langsung dan tidak langsung pembuatan mahkota sementara resin akrilik autopolimerisasi terhadap ketepatan margin. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimental laboratoris. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah resin akrilik autopolimerisasi. Jumlah seluruh sampel adalah 12 dengan 6 sampel untuk masing-masing kelompok. Seluruh sampel diuji ketepatan marginnya menggunakan stereomikroskop. Hasil: Analisis statistik menggunakan uji t tidak berpasangan menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara teknik langsung dan tidak langsung pembuatan mahkota sementara terhadap ketepatan margin p=0,0001 (p<0,05). Simpulan: Mahkota sementara yang dibuat menggunakan teknik tidak langsung menghasilkan ketepatan margin yang lebih baik daripada teknik langsung.Kata kunci: Ketepatan margin, mahkota sementara, resin akrilik autopolimerisasi, teknik langsung, teknik tidak langsung. ABSTRACTIntroduction: Temporary crowns must have good margin accuracy to maintain gingival health and protect teeth from temperature, chemical, physical, and bacterial trauma. The most commonly used temporary crown is the direct and indirect technique. This study was aimed to determine the effect of direct and indirect techniques on the margin accuracy in the fabrication of the auto polymerised acrylic resin temporary crown. Method: This research was an experimental laboratory. The sample in this study was auto polymerised acrylic resin. The total number of samples was 12 with 6 samples for each group. All samples were tested for margin accuracy using stereomicroscopes. Results: Statistical analysis using unpaired t-test showed that there were significant differences between the direct and indirect techniques of temporary crowns fabrication on the margin accuracy p = 0.0001 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Temporary crowns fabricated with indirect technique produce better margin accuracy than direct technique.Keywords: Margin accuracy, temporary crown, auto polymerised acrylic resin, direct technique, indirect technique.
Mahkota sementara digunakan untuk jangka waktu sementara sampai selesainya mahkota definitif. Perubahan warna mahkota sementara dapat disebabkan oleh faktor intrinsik maupun ekstrinsik. Sedangkan stabilitas warna sangat dibutuhkan sampai selesainya mahkota definitif. Noda ekstrinsik pada mahkota sementara berhubungan dengan aktivitas kebersihan mulut yang buruk dan intensitas minuman kromogenik seperti kopi. Masyarakat cenderung menggunakan pasta gigi pemutih sebagaicara yang efisien untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Namun, kandungan bahan abrasif pasta gigi pemutih juga dapat mempercepat degradasi bahan mahkota sementara sehingga memengaruhi stabilitas warna bahan mahkota sementara. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perubahan warna bahan mahkota sementara resin akrilik swapolimerisasi seteleh kontaminasi larutan kopi dan penyikatan dengan pasta gigi pemutih. Rancangan penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental laboratoris dengan sampel penelitian berupa bahan mahkota sementara resin akrilik swapolimerisasi, berbentuk silindris (diameter 15±1 mm, ketebalan 2,5 mm) yang diuji dengan colorimeter. Data dianalisis menggunakan wilcoxon range test. Hasil menunjukkan nilai yang signifikan antara perubahan warna setelah kontaminasi kopi dan penyikatan dengan pasta gigi pemutih pada bahan mahkota sementara resin akrilik swapolimerisasi dengan nilai signifikansi p=0,005 (p0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini terdapat perubahan warna bahan mahkota sementara resin akrilik swapolimerisasi setelah kontaminasi larutan kopi dan penyikatan dengan pasta gigi pemutih.
