Background: Breast cancer ranked second in Indonesia after cervical cancer in which women were being the major patient in this disease. One of the new medicine discovered was from natural substance that showed a pharmacological effect in overcoming cancer, it is called red fruit oil (Pandanus conoideus Lam.). Red fruit oil contain many antioxidant compounds that assisted the healing process of cancer by preventing and suppressing the growth of the cancer cells. However, giving red fruit oil directly to the patients by oral administration is not acceptable, it requires the development of delivery systems such as SNEDDS (Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery System). Objective: This research aim to get SNEDDS characteristic on red fruit oil. Methods: To obtain a good SNEDDS characters, the suitable comparison of the oil surfactants and co-surfactants need to be investigated. In this study 4 formulas containing different composition of red fruit oil and the tween 80 and propylene glycol were tested. Thee formulas were I (9:62:29), II (9:68:23), III (11:64:25) and IV (12:65:23). The %Transmittant, emulsification time and the IC 50 of each formulas were determined. Results: The results showed that the % transmittants of formula 1-IV were 99.21%; 99.34%; 98.69% and 98.27, respectively. The results obtained for the emulsification time of the 4 formulas in consecutive were 16.51; 15.40; 17.64 and 18.67 seconds. The IC 50 values of the 4 formulas were 176.81; 58.99; 6832.02 and 514.84 µL/mL, respectively. Conclusions: The results indicated that the best SNEDDS character was obtained from formula II which showed the highest % Transmittant, the fastest emulsification time and the smallest IC 50 value.

Gedoro village is one of the villages in Nglegi, Patuk, Gunung Kidul. This village is located in the north area of Gunung Kidul. This is an agricultural conservation area of herb Some of them are Zingiber oficinale (jahe), Curcuma xanthorrhiza (temulawak),Curcuma domestica (kunir) dan Cymbopogon citratus (serai). This village is located in hills where the access to transportation is quite difficult. This problem often causes delays in harvest distribution, so that a lot of herb rot before they are sold at the central market in Gunung Kidul. The survey result also showed that the people in Gedoro Village have not had enough knowledge in processing empon-empon into processed products that are able to increase its stability and durability when they are not immediately sold. Those problems are the factors which cause decrease in economic value of herb. Herb actually has high price because it contains antioxidants that can be used to treat cancer and degenerative diseases. The aim of this empowerment program is to increase the knowledge of people in Gedoro Village in processing herb into healthy drinks based on zero waste home industry with the women as the target. This program is in the format of KKN PPM which was given in the form of counseling, training, practicing and accompanying the processing of empon-empon into healthy drinks. This program is proven to be able to increase knowledge, skills and community participation as well as community self-help in processing herb into healthy drinks.
Lung cancer is the cancer that caused death, especially for men in Indonesia. One of the compounds that causes cancer is 712-Dimethylben(a)anthracene (DMBA). Black cumin seed oils (BCSO) is able to reduce the damage of lung cells to the DMBA-induced rat. To improve total medicine that could arrive and react at the cancer cell, it's necessary to make selfnanoemulsifying drug delivery system (SNEDDS). The aim of this research is to know the effect of SNEDDS BCSO into of histopathological lung organ of the Sprague Dawley (SD) rat that's already DMBA-induced. The making of SNEDDS is by using BCSO, tween 80 and PEG 400. Treatment was done in vivo towards 25 SD male rats, which are divided to 4 groups. The first group act as the baseline, the second one are given with the DMBA, the third group was given BCSO as equivalent as thymoquinone 6.8 mg/KgBW, and group 4 was given BCSO SNEDDS as equivalent as 6.8 mg/KgBW of thymoquinone. Next, the rat discharged and lung organs are taken then being H & E painted. Based on results of histopathology lung in a descriptive manner, there's no specific differences of histopathology between the group treatment. Next, scoring is done based on alveolar category damage. After that, was done the Kruskal Wallis test, which obtained P value = 0.801. Because of the p value was bigger than 0.05, then this statistical test didn't show any significant difference at each of the group. This research concludes that there is no influence from BCSO SNEDDS to histopathology of DMBA-induced lung compared with BCSO administration only.
