AbstrakBeras merupakan makanan pokok bagi mayoritas penduduk Indonesia. Untuk mempertahankan pasokan beras, maka diperlukan insentif yang memadai bagi petani dan sistem pemasaran yang efisien. Untuk menganalisis kondisi di atas diperlukan analisis efisiensi pemasaran yang meliputi: (1) Biaya pemasaran, dan (2) Efisiensi pemasaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metoda survey, pengambilan sampel petani dilakukan secara acak, sedangkan pengambilan sampel pedagang dilakukan dengan cara snowball sampling. Data yang digunakan terdiri atas data primer dan sekunder, data dianalisis secara matematik dan deskriptif. Lokasi penelitian di sentra produksi padi di kabupaten Ciamis dan sentra produksi padi propinsi Jawa Barat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: (1) Marjin pemasaran beras Rp. 3.553 per kg beras (Ciamis) dan Rp. 2.990 per kg beras (Jawa Barat), biaya pemasaran Rp.1.920 per kg gabah/beras (Ciamis) dan Rp.2.056 per kg gabah/beras (Jawa Barat), farmer's share petani 67,5 % (Ciamis) dan 76,1 %, (Jawa Barat), dan (2) Efisiensi pemasaran 18,3% (Ciamis) dan 19,6% (Jawa Barat). Pemasaran beras di kabupaten Ciamis dan propinsi Jawa Barat tergolong efisien, namun pemasaran beras dari kabupaten Ciamis lebih efisien dibanding pemasaran beras di propinsi Jawa Barat, karena biaya pemasaran beras dan harga gabah di kabupaten Ciamis lebih murah, dengan demikian beras yang berasal dari kabupaten Ciamis memiliki keunggulan kompetitif di pasar di tingkat propinsi Jawa Barat, khususnya di Bandung.
