Abstract:A series of new compounds derived from semicarbazides containing azomethane linkage which found to be liquid crystals. These Schiff's bases resulted from the reaction between substituted semicarbazide [I] and different substituted benzaldehyde in presence of few drops of glacial acetic acid as a catalyst and absolute ethanol as a solvent. These derivatives exhibited thermotropic liquid crystalline properties. This semicarbazide then cyclized to 2-amino oxadiazole which converted to allylic monomers by reacting it with acryloyl and methyl methacryloyl chlorides. These monomers were polymerized free radically with AIBN or benzoyl peroxide as initiator The monomers and its polymers were characterized by IR and H 1 NMR spectra .These new compounds show mesomorphic properties were discussed with relation to chemical structure of these molecules. The structures of these compounds were characterized by IR, H 1 NMR spectra for some of them,C.H.N. analysis, melting points and transition temperatures were checked
Introduction:A large number of mesomorphic compounds containing Schiff
This study including synthesis of some new Schiff bases compounds [1‐6] from the reaction of Sulfamethoxazole drug with some aromatic aldehydes in classical Schiff base method then treatment Schiff bases with succinic anhydride to get oxazepines rings [7-11]These derivatives were characterized by melting point, FT‐IR, 1H NMR and mass spectra. Some of synthesized compounds were evaluated in vitro for their antibacterial activities against three kinds of pathogenic strains Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa by agar diffusion disk method, and against the fungal species (Candida). The results showed that some of these derivatives have good antibacterial activities compared to biological activity of parent drug.
New 2, 3-substituted benzooxazin-4-one derivatives were prepared by means of a altered step by step proceedings in which Schiff bases were substituted with salicylic acid for a ring forming reaction. The compositions of the synthesized compounds were certain via methods spectrometry as elemental analysis, FT-IR, 13 C-NMR & 1 H-NMR spectral analysis. The bioactivities for the prepared compounds in-vitro as antibacterial and antifungal were estimated as opposed to two races of gram-positive & two races of gram-negative bacteria as parallel to Cefotaxime sodium as regular drug and assessed versus two types of fungi. The prepared compounds were got to have antimicrobial activities spreading from middling to perfect against of the bacteria strains with good percentage mycelial growth inhibition activity against fungi. Molecular docking displays the critical part while effect of variety of substituents on biological activity while mark the disadvantageous constitutional parameters in drawing medication: A different substitution does ensure additional efficiency in bioactivity.
Discotic liquid crystal compounds were synthesized and characterized. Liquid crystalline texture of these compounds was investigated by polarized optical microscopy (POM). The Hartree-Fock approximation (HF) was used to calculate theoretical molecular parameters for synthesized compounds such as optimization, hardness, EHOMO, ELUMO, and energy gap using the Gaussian 09W program.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
