The diverse nature of modern business operations and environment has made it a strategic necessity for organization to have a proper understanding of the spontaneous activities in their business environment. It was based on this notion that this study theoretically reviewed literature on the role of structural flexibility on corporate responsiveness to business environment, x-rayed the three basic measures of corporate responsiveness. Consequently, the study found that structural flexibility plays inestimable role in the facilitating of corporate responsiveness in reacting to changes in business environment. Given these findings, we conclude that in the organization, structural flexibility predicts corporate responsiveness. Finally, the study recommended thus: that management of organization should emphasize the need for the effective reconfiguration of its system to ensure the development of capabilities that fosters flexibility and seamless operations and that organizations should provide the necessary leadership that will motivate employees to develop and sustain skills that facilitates responsive actions. This study examined the relationship between work life balance and employee commitment in indigenous oil servicing companies in Rivers State. The study adopted a cross-sectional research survey design. Primary source was generated through self- administered questionnaire. The population of the study is 270 employees of twenty-four (24) selected indigenous oil servicing companies in Rivers State. The sample size of 161 was determined using the Taro Yamane’s formula for sample size determination. The reliability of the instrument was achieved by the use of the Cronbach Alpha coefficient with all the items scoring above 0.70 selected. The hypotheses were tested using the Spearman’s Rank Order Correlation Coefficient. The results of the analysed data revealed that there is a significant relationship between work environment and employee commitment in indigenous oil servicing companies in Rivers State. The study thus concludes that work life balance significantly influences employee commitment in indigenous oil servicing companies in Rivers State. Therefore, the study recommends that indigenous oil servicing companies should adopt policies that encourage work life balance practices such as flexible work arrangements, family responsibilities support, and wellness programs. The considerations of childcare, dependent care and allowing employees more time with their families which are issues that characterize employee’s role at home should be encouraged. Stress management is a wide spectrum of techniques and psychotherapies aimed at controlling a person’s level of stress, especially chronic stress, usually for the purpose of and for the motive of improving everyday functioning. Although there are several stress management techniques, that of Job redesign, Job rotation, Social support, and Employee counseling were adopted from the work of Miller (2008). Stress management was aligned with the Behavioural school of management thoughts. First the paper delineated the importance of stress management in individual, group and organizational life, detailing the four techniques mentioned earlier. Secondly, the article evaluated the behavioural management philosophy ; which gives primacy to psychological considerations, but treats fulfillment of emotional needs, mainly as a means of achieving other primary economic goals, and finally the alignment of the behvioural management philosophy with stress management .In conclusion , the behavioural management philosophy provide the antidote foundation for the ultimate elimination of dysfunctional stressors, while it was recommended amongst other; management should utilize job redesign to check emotional exhaustion. This would ensure increased quality of work life and employee job satisfaction.
