Results of the work on controlled synthesis of thermoplastic engineering poly ether sulfones with distinct molecular weights are presented. It is shown that control of time of the chemical reaction with other synthesis parameters being fixed allows for synthesis of poly ether sulfone with desired molecular weight and therefore with desired melt viscosity. The latter is an important parameter for creation of high-quality thermoplastic carbon fiber prepregs.
The results of conducted controlled synthesis of thermoplastic high-performance polyether sulfones with different molecular weight are presented. It is shown that control of reaction time with other synthesis parameters being fixed makes it possible to synthesize polyether sulfones with desired molecular weight and hence viscosity of their melts. The latter is important for making high quality thermoplastic prepregs reinforced with carbon fiber.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
