Background: Chronic kidney disease is a progressive and irreversible renal function disorder in which the body's ability to fail to maintain the metabolism and balance of fluids and electrolytes causes uremia. One medicine for the treatment of chronic kidney failure is hemodialysis therapy. Ironically, many patients undergoing hemodialysis experience anxiety. This study aims to determine the efforts to overcome the anxiety of chronic kidney failure in patients undergoing hemodialysis in the Hemodialysis Room of Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar. Method: The research design used was a descriptive analysis approach survey. The study sample used was kidney failure patients who experienced chronic hemodialysis anxiety and light using consecutive sampling technique. Data obtained in April 2012 by filling out a questionnaire about efforts to overcome data analysis anxiety in univariate. Results: Of the 40 respondents who underwent hemodialysis, there were 28 people (70%) experiencing moderate anxiety and 12 people (30%) experiencing mild anxiety. And to overcome anxiety is 27 people (67.50%) doing cognitive therapy and 13 people (32.50) doing relaxation techniques. Conclusions: Some efforts made such as cognitive therapy and relaxation techniques can reduce anxiety in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis.Keywords : Chronic Kidney Failur; Hemodialysis; Fear
Background: Diabetes Mellitus is a disease with high levels of glucose (simple sugar) in the high blood because the body can not release or use insulin adequately. One complication that is feared by people with Diabetes is Diabetic Foot or Diabetic Gangrene. This research aims to determine the behavior of patients with diabetes mellitus in the prevention of diabetic foot in room of Sahadeva and Nakula Sanjiwani Gianyar District Hospital. Methods: Types of research used in this research is descriptive survey approach. Sample of the study are 40 patients with diabetes mellitus hospitalized in the room of Sahadeva and Nakula Sanjiwani Gianyar District Hospital using consecutive sampling technique. Data is collected in the period March to May 2012 by filling out a questionnaire about behavioral prevention of diabetic foot. Results: The results of data analysis showed that the behavior of patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the prevention of Diabetic Foot based on education level, age, gender and occupation. From the 40 respondents there were: 55% of the level of knowledge good, 80% good attitude, 70% good actions and 67,5% good actions in the category of good behavior. Conclusion: It can be concluded that the behavior of patients with Diabetes Mellitus in the prevention of Diabetic Foot is in a good category with the factors assessed including knowledge, attitudes, and actions. New cases of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) in Bali Province from 2011 to 2013 were increased. Based on the report of Integrated Disease Surveillance or Surveilan Terpadu Penyakit (STP) from Puskesmas it is known that DM was ranked 3 out of the 10 highest diseases in health centers throughout the City of Denpasar. The purpose of this screening is to find out the prevalence of DM in Pemecutan Kaja Village, North Denpasar in 2015. Methods: Screening was carried out on 189 subjects aged ?15 in Pemecutan Kaja Village, North Denpasar on January 6 and 7, 2015. Screening was carried out by checking blood sugar levels while using Nesco Multicheck. The collected data is processed and presented descriptively about the characteristics of the sample and the proportion of DM based on the results of the examination. Results: The results showed that 6.4% of respondents suffering DM. Most of the subjects were women (58.3%). In this screening, there are 50% in the age group ?51 years, and most are only elementary school graduates (30%). Based on the type of work, most of the subjects are entrepreneurs/traders (50%). Based on the interview, there was none history of DM in the family. Conclusion: The proportion of DM in Pemecutan Kaja Village is 6.4% through examination of blood sugar levels while using Nesco Multi Check. The positive results of DM in this screening should be carried out further examination to confirm the diagnosis so that appropriate treatment can be carried out.
