The need to access data remotely is a person's need to be more efficient in doing a job. Currently there are many remote access application programs, one of which is TeamViewer by utilizing the internet public network. By installing a TeamViewer program on a client and server computer someone can do data work and repair remotely as long as it is connected to the internet. To be able to do remote access, of course, a client must already know the user and password from the server computer. The disadvantage of TeamViewer is that other people will easily remote access data simply by entering the user and password that the computer has on the server. To overcome this problem, VPN technology is used with the PPTP protocol where only the IP address of the client that has been registered on the proxy device can access data on the server. VPN allows clients to connect to the server privately through public networks. To find out the performance of the VPN network that is built, QoS (Quality of Service) parameter analysis is needed which includes delay, jitter, throughput and packet loss. From the results of the tests carried out, the results of QOS with an index of 3.75, which if converted to the standard TIPHON, VPN network at STMIK STIKOM Indonesia has a satisfactory quality.
AbstrakKeamanan server merupakan hal penting yang perlu diberikan perhatian lebih saat melakukan konfigurasi server. Pada umumnya serangan yang terjadi pada server diketahui setelah terjadinya kegagalan pada server dalam memberikan layanan. Pada penelitian ini, dibangun sebuah sistem keamanan server yang dapat melakukan monitoring pada sebuah server ketika terdeteksi adanya aktivitas yang tidak wajar. Pemberitahuan akan dikirimkan melalui SMS (Short Message Service) ke handphone Administrator jaringan. Sistem yang dibangun melakukan pendeteksian intrusi pada server secara realtime menggunakan SNORT. Ketika terjadi akses yang tidak wajar pada server, maka SNORT akan mendeteksi dan mengirimkan informasi terjadinya aktivitas yang tidak wajar ke Administrator jaringan. Sistem ini diujikan dengan lima jenis serangan yakni PING Attack, DoS/DDoS Attack, Port Scanning, Telnet Access dan FTP Access. Parameter yang diamati pada penelitian ini adalah beban aktivitas yang terjadi pada sumber daya server meliputi CPU, Memory (RAM) dan beban jaringan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa saat terjadi upaya serangan terhadap server, SNORT dapat menghasilkan alert yang akan disimpan pada log sekaligus dikirimkan ke handphone Administrator melalui SMS. AbstractServer security is an important thing that needs to be given more attention when configuring a server. In general, attacks that occur on the server are known after a failure on the server in providing services. In this study, a server security system was built that could monitor a server when an unusual activity was detected. Notifications will be sent via SMS (Short Message Service) to the network Administrator's smartphone. The system is built to detect intrusions on the server in real time using SNORT. When improper access occurs on the server, SNORT will detect and send information about the occurrence of unusual activity to the network Administrator. This system is tested with five types of attacks namely PING Attack, DoS / DDoS Attack, Port Scanning, Telnet Access and FTP Access. The parameters observed in this study are the activity load that occurs on server resources including CPU, Memory (RAM) and network load. The results showed that when an attempt was made to attack the server, SNORT could produce alerts that would be stored in a log as well as sent to the Administrator's smartphone via SMS.
Praktikum merupakan kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilaksanakan di STMIK STIKOM Indonesia dalam ruang laboratorium. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam pelaksanaan praktikum khususnya Praktikum Manajemen Jaringan dan Server adalah keterbatasan waktu penggunaan laboratorium. Selain itu penggunaan laboratorium secara bersama-sama menyebabkan adanya perubahan konfigurasi yang sudah dilakukan oleh praktikan, sehingga harus mengulang kembali pada pertemuan selanjutnya. Pada penelitian ini dirancang laboratorium virtual menggunakan proxmox yang memungkinkan praktikan memiliki mesin server secara virtual dan dapat diakses tidak hanya dari laboratorium. Setelah implementasi selanjutnya dilakukan pengujian dengan berpedoman pada modul Praktikum Manajemen Jaringan dan Server. Hasil pengujian menunjukkan saat dilakukan instalasi aplikasi, penggunaan CPU dan memory pada masing-masing mesin virtual yang melakukan aktifitas, meningkat hingga 98%. Penggunaan CPU dan memory pada server utama mencapai 20%. Dengan jumlah total memory sebesar 16GB, server hanya mampu mengaktifkan mesin sebanyak 10 buah secara bersamaan.
The rapid development of technology, especially mobile technology requires a network infrastructure that supports mobile devices. One of them is a wireless device that is WiFi (wireless Fidelity). STMIK STIKOM (STIKI) Indonesia is one of the campuses that have implemented WiFi technology to support teaching and learning activities. STIKI has installed 8 access points that are used to serve the civitas internet users. To know the performance of WiFi network in STIKI Indonesia, it is necessary to analyze the performance of WiFi network by measuring signal coverage and quality of service (QOS) analysis. In this research, coverage measurement is done by using android application WiFi Heat Mapper and QOS measurement is done by using wireshark application. The measured parameters of QOS are throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss. Based on the measurements made the results obtained for signal coverage there are still some areas covered by a very small signal strength. Then for QOS measurement it is found that performance of WiFi network based on parameter of throughput, delay, jitter, and packet loss are in good category.
