This Letter presents the design of a frequency-selective rasorber that selectively absorbs undesired (out-of-band) signals and selectively transmits desired (in-band) signals by using planar resistor technology without lumped elements. To implement the selective absorption characteristic on the upper surface, a lossy layer was implemented in the proposed structure by using a nickel-phosphorus metal alloy-based resistor-conductor material. Furthermore, stable transmissive/absorptive performance against polarisation and incidence angle was implemented by laminating a quarter-wavelength thickness of dielectric spacer and bandpass type frequency selective surface together. The resulting design was verified through experimental measurements.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
