Farmer Behavior Towards Rice Farming Insurance Program (Case in Subak Pangkung Jajung, Baler Bale Agung Village, Negara District, Jembrana Regency) Subak Pangkung Jajung is a farmer group that participates in the Rice Farming Insurance program to protect farmers from the risk of crop failure that occurs in farming. The purpose of this study was to determine the behavior of farmers towards the AUTP program. This research was conducted from December 2020 to February 2021 in Subak Pangkung Jajung in Baler Bale Agung Village, Negara District, Jembrana Regency. The research sample amounted to 60 farmers with data collection methods through in-depth interviews and structured interviews (questionnaires), then analyzed using qualitative descriptive methods. The results showed that the behavior of farmers who took part in the AUTP Program was quite good. The behavior of the farmers is formed on the condition of the behavioral components, namely the general knowledge of farmers about the AUTP program is high, farmers both have a very agreeable attitude towards the AUTP program, and the implementation of the AUTP program by farmers who follow the program is classified as good. Subak Pangkung Jajung farmers need to carry out persuasive counseling on the AUTP program to farmers who have not participated in the program, so that their knowledge and attitudes that are classified as good can continue to be real actions following the program. Provisions for claims from the AUTP Program related to the level of damage to farming businesses that receive compensation need to be reviewed. Where the damage rate of 75% is considered too high, so that farmers participating in the AUTP program are difficult to obtain compensation.
Empowerment of Coconut Farmers in Brown Sugar Processing in Besan Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency. Besan Village is a village that has few human resources despite its good natural resource potential. This can be seen from the brown sugar processing business which still uses traditional methods and limited marketing, hence farmers do not get much income from brown sugar production. This study aims to determine the potential of coconut farming and brown sugar processing business and to analyze the empowerment efforts of coconut farmers in the brown sugar processing business in Besan Village, Dawan District, Klungkung Regency. This study uses descriptive qualitative method. Eight informants were selected by using purposive method, namely the entire population of farmers who are still producing brown sugar. The result of this study indicates that brown sugar processing resources in Besan Village which includes natural resources, human resources, financial resources, and technological resources are sufficient. The efforts to empower brown sugar producer farmers, which include human development, business development, institutional development, and environmental development has been sufficient.
The Relationship of Farmer Characteristics with Farmer Communication Behavior in Rice Cultivation in Subak Umalayu Penaturahan Village, East Denpasar District. The lack of information sources from extension workers in Subak Umalayu has resulted in inadequate rice cultivation success. The research objective is to determine farmers characteristics, farmers communication behavior, and the relationship of the two. The types of data used in this research are primary and secondary data. This study uses quantitative descriptive method and Rank Spearman analysis. Based on the analysis, in terms of characteristic, the average age of farmers is 58 years old, most farmers’ education level is at junior high school, farmers’ average land ownership is 23.56 acres, farmers' average income is IDR 1,600,000, and the average farming experience of farmers is 20 years. In terms of communication behavior, Subak Umalayu farmers are quite good as reflected in each indicator, namely frequently looking for information on rice cultivation and frequently interacting within a group, but contact between farmers and extension workers / other parties is still rare and they rarely convey information on rice cultivation. Openness of farmers to the mass media is never classified. Based on the significance or sig- (2-tailed) value of the Spearman Rank correlation test, there is no significant relationship between farmer characteristics and farmer communication behavior. It is recommended to find information on rice cultivation, field PPL visits, and improvement of access to mass media in order to fulfill maximum information needs.
Agricultural Extension during New Normal Era in Denpasar The study aimed at (1) the implementation of agricultural extension activities during the New Normal Era (2) the challenges faced by the agricultural extensionists (3) the efforts to solve the problems. The poor implementation includes the preparation, online monitoring, and evaluative reports caused by the uncertain conditions. The obstacles faced in administration, technical infrastructure, supporting facilities, farmer participation, and the IT skill of extensionists. A less good condition of solution was found yet identified as good enough for farmer participation. The data used are primary and secondary data, the methods implemented are questionnaires and interviews. The qualitative and quantitative were data analysis. The results of the study: (1) characteristics of Agricultural Extensionists in Denpasar, 16 persons, average age 53 years 38%, Bachelor 94%, balanced men and women, 50% is civil servant 63%, work experience on average 11 years 50%, the family dependents 48% on average. The characteristics of Subak Head, 12 people: average age 52 years 25%, junior high school graduated 33%,100% male, work experience on average 3 years 50%.(2) the implementation of agricultural extensionists in Denpasar according to PPL is classified as poor category, 56% of respondents. Subak Head counseling was carried out offline, by mobile phone, and by zoom meeting, it was not good, 67% respondents, the material was quite good, 75% respondents. (3) obstacles based on the research results are classified as poor, 56% respondents. (4) efforts to overcome obstacles to agricultural extensionists in the New Normal Era in Denpasar, 69% respondents were not good.
Internal Conflict Resolution in Subak Taman, Taman Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency Subak is an organization that oversees farmers to regulate irrigation, in its activities Subak cannot avoid problems in the form of conflict. Internal conflicts within the subak organization can be triggered by various factors, namely water scarcity and weak coordination between tempek to distribute water resources. Various conflicts that can arise in subak as a consequence of interaction between individuals in the organization, in this case farmers are members of the subak, it is very necessary to handle conflicts that can be applied in the form of management of any problems that arise from the subak organization. This study aims to determine the conflicts that occur in Subak Taman and the conflict resolutions taken to overcome these internal conflicts. This research was conducted with a qualitative descriptive analysis using primary and secondary data. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, documentation studies and literature studies. The results showed that the conflicts that occurred in Subak Taman, Taman Village, Abiansemal District, Badung Regency were lack of irrigation water, work situations where there was blurring of task boundaries, communication failures, cropping patterns and cropping schedules, irrigation water pollution, and individual characteristics, namely differences. traits and personalities and differences in values and needs. Conflict resolution carried out in Subak Taman is by the methods of cooperation (cooperation), avoidance, competition, compromise, accommodation, domination, and problem solving. From the results of the study it can be concluded that there are six internal conflicts that occur in Subak Taman and conflict resolution is carried out using seven methods. The results of this study are expected to be a reference for those who need it.
