abstract:The Program Period of the European Union for the years 2007-2013 is focused on the support of standardization of rural development and the creation of a space for its sustainable development. Agriculture is in the structure of production and non-production functions an important factor of social-economic development of countryside and it contributes to the increase of its growth potential. Diversification of activities in the countryside has a significant influence on the stability of settlement, the development of employment in the countryside, and the sustenance of entrepreneurial structures in rural regions.Key words: sustainable development of the countryside, multifunctional agriculture, diversification of activities, EU operational Program abstrakt: Programové období Evropské unie na léta 2007-2013 se orientuje na podpory usměrňování rozvoje venkova a vytváření prostoru pro jeho udržitelný rozvoj. zemědělství ve struktuře produkčních a mimoprodukčních funkcí je důležitým faktorem sociálně ekonomického rozvoje venkova a přispívá ke zvyšování jeho růstového potenciálu. To increase the educational attainment of the population is a priority that has arisen also from the pro-growth strategy of the European Union. In this regard, the quality of the teaching process in tertiary education and subsequent graduates' employability are paid substantial attention. However, the quality of knowledge and skills acquired and presented by the graduates on the labour market has not been observed so closely. The focus on quantitative aspects implies a significant risk of lowering qualitative standards. The present paper strives to analyze the development and structure of students' results within the framework of economic study programmes at the Faculty of Economics and Management CULS Prague in five consecutive academic years. Based on the analysis, the differences in study results, study skills and approaches are specified and compared between and among the individual study programmes and forms of study.
The paper is focused on possibilities of economic effectiveness evaluation of supports expended in the framework of the European Development Fund. As an indicator which would refl ect the infl uence of support on a given country, human development index was chosen for its complexity. On base of a sample of African countries monitored in the period of 2001-2011, an analysis of time series has been carried out. Its aim was to fi nd out whether and after what period the amount of supports will be refl ected on the size of human development index. Statistically, a small effi ciency of provided supports was proved. It is necessary then to deal partly with the question of their advisability in the present form and partly with a methodology of determination of their effi ciency.
In connection with the conception and realisation of the principles of sustainable development, profound changes happen with regard to the position and role of agrarian sector in the frame of the national economy development. Not only developed states respond to these changes, but also the so-called candidate countries should react. The contribution is applied to the problems of determination and definition of indicators that characterise regions so that it would be possible, based on them, to determine the prosperity of individual regions.Key words: agrarian sector, rural regions, structural policy, statistical methods Abstrakt: V souvislosti s koncepcí a realizací principu TUR dochází k zásadním zmìnám v pohledu na postavení a roli agrárního sektoru v rámci rozvoje národní ekonomiky. Klíèová slova: agrární sektor, venkovské regiony, strukturální politika, statistické metodyThe contibution presented at the international conference Agrarian Perspectives XI (CUA Prague, September 1819, 2002.
