Periodically poled LiNbO3 single crystals with antiparallel domain configurations have been successfully grown with a [010] oriented seed from a congruent melting composition with 4 mol % potassium addition using a modified Cz geometry. The experiments reported in this paper showed that the polarization antiparallel domain structure in lithium niobate crystals can be created during growth process by a direct poling technique with electric field of alternating polarity. PPLN structures with period length 20 -100 tm were demonstrated by this method.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
