Depuis sa création, le Parc national du Mont Péko est sujet à diverses pressions anthropiques. Ces pressions ont été accentuées durant les conflits armés en Côte d’Ivoire entre 2002 et 2011. L’intensification des pressions aurait entraîné une augmentation du taux de déforestation dans le parc. Pour vérifier cette hypothèse, la présente étude visait à déterminer l’effet des conflits sur la dynamique forestière du parc. À cet effet, quatre images satellitaires Landsat ont été analysées pour examiner les changements d’occupation des sols avant, pendant et après les conflits. Les résultats de ces travaux révèlent une forte réduction des surfaces forestières durant les conflits, qui s'est accentuée pendant la période post-conflit. En effet, 5,65 % de pertes se sont produites avant les conflits à un taux annuel de 0,42 %, contre 28,03 % pendant les conflits à un taux annuel de 3,92 %, et 34,02 % après les conflits à un taux annuel de 14,41 %. Cette aggravation de la déforestation dans le parc est liée à la culture illégale du cacao. L’infiltration massive des populations paysannes dans cette aire protégée pendant les conflits a entraîné une exacerbation des pressions. Une surveillance constante et un aménagement des zones converties en plantation de cacao afin d’accélérer la régénération dans le parc s’avèrent donc nécessaires. En outre, les résultats soulignent la vulnérabilité des aires protégées lors des conflits et l’urgence de la prise de mesures de sécurisation de celles-ci pour prévenir les risques de dégradation.
Parmi les 36 espèces de bois d’oeuvre inscrites sur la liste rouge de l’UICN, Tieghemella heckelii (Sapotaceae) ou Makoré est l’une des deux espèces qualifiées de danger d’extinction, à cause des activités anthropiques qui ont entrainé la réduction considérable des écosystèmes forestiers en Côte d’Ivoire. De plus, les variations climatiques influenceraient aussi l’aire de distribution de cette espèce menacée. D’où l’intérêt de cette étude dont l’objectif général vise à apporter des connaissances sur l’effet des variations climatiques sur la répartition phytogéographique de Makoré en Côte d’Ivoire, pour une gestion rationnelle de l’espèce. Il a été question de modéliser la distribution des aires favorables actuelles de Makoré dans les zones phytogéographiques; d’évaluer les effets potentiels des variations climatiques à l’horizon 2050 sur l’étendue des aires de distribution phytogéographique de Makoré et de déterminer les contributions des variables bioclimatiques importantes dans la modélisation de la distribution de Makoré. Pour ce faire, les coordonnées géographiques des spécimens de Makoré herborisés dans les trois herbiers nationaux et les individus inventoriés dans les zones phytogéographiques du pays, ont été recensées. Les scenarios RCP 6.0 et RCP 8.5 ont été utilisés pour la prédiction de la distribution de Makoré dans les conditions climatiques actuelles et futures. Les résultats des simulations montrent que les habitats favorables à la distribution de Makoré seront localisés préférentiellement dans les forêts denses humides sempervirentes du pays. L’importante contribution de la variable bioclimatique « précipitations du mois le plus sec (Bio 14) » signifie que la distribution future de Makoré sera principalement influencée par les variations de pluviométrie. Cette étude aidera certainement les gestionnaires du patrimoine forestier ivoirien dans leurs prises de décision sur la conservation et la protection de la biodiversité.Mots clés : Tieghemella heckelii (Sapotaceae), Aire de distribution, Modélisation, Variations bioclimatiques, Côte d’Ivoire.
RESUMEUne étude sur la croissance en pépinière de Guibourtia ehie (Caesalpiniaceae), en fonction de l'intensité de l'ensoleillement, a été réalisée dans l'Unité de Gestion Forestière de Bossematié. Le principal objectif est de contribuer à accroître les connaissances sur la croissance initiale de Guibourtia ehie (Caesalpiniaceae), espèce surexploitée et menacée d'extinction, afin de l'utiliser dans les programmes de reboisement des forêts ivoiriennes. L'étude est basée sur l'observation de la dynamique de croissance en hauteur et en diamètre et de la production foliaire de cette espèce dans des milieux d'ensoleillement d'intensité varié. Trois milieux d'intensité d'éclairement graduelle (faible, moyenne, forte) abritant chacun, des pépinières de Guibourtia ehie (Caesalpiniaceae) ont été installés et les différentes mensurations et dénombrements y ont été effectuées. Les résultats ont montré que les hauteurs moyennes des milieux faiblement et moyennement ensoleillés sont statistiquement différentes (F = 8,457 ; P = 0,0070) de celle du milieu fortement ensoleillé. De même, les milieux peu ensoleillés ont eu une influence significativement positive (F = 9,636 ; P = 0,0046) sur la croissance en diamètre des plants. Egalement, les milieux d'ensoleillement modéré ont eu une influence hautement significative (F = 12,64 ; P = 0,0018) sur la production foliaire des jeunes tiges. Par ailleurs, l'étude a montré que la croissance initiale de Guibourtia ehie (Caesalpiniaceae) est lente, à l'instar de celle de la majorité des essences forestières couramment exploitées.
