The patient was treated with Korean medicine therapy, including the acupuncture with Hwata 153 and herbal decoction. Treatment progress was assessed using the numeric rating scale (NRS), Formetric 4D analysis and Digital Infrared Thermographic Imaging (D.I.T.I). After treatment, significant improvements of chronic rupture of gastrocnemius muscle were shown. Numeric rating scales of pain, numbness, swelling in the lower legs, lumbago were decreased from 6 to 0. This improvement might suggest the feasibility of acupuncture with Hwata 153 magnetic field thermotherapy machine and herbal decoction on chronic rupture of gastrocnemius muscle. Korean medicine treatment, including acupuncture therapy with Hwata 153 and herbal medicine might be a recommended therapeutic option for chronic rupture of gastrocnemius muscle.
