Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global pandemic affecting the world, seen in more than 1,300,000 patients. COVID -19 acts through the angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) receptor. Cardiovascular comorbidities are more common with COVID-19, and nearly 10% of cases develop myocarditis (22% of critical patients). Further research is needed to continue or discontinue ACE inhibitors and angiotensin receptor blockers, which are essential in hypertension and heart failure in COVID-19. Intensive research is promising for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19.
Kardiovaskulární onemocnění (KVO) jsou celosvětově častým typem postižení vedoucího k úmrtí. Kaveolin je strukturální kaveolární protein se třemi izoformami (caveolin-1 [cav-1], cav-2 a cav-3]. Kaveoly hrají životně důležitou úlohu v přenášení signálů při přežití buněk v rámci kardioprotekce. Zvláště cav-1 ovlivňuje mnoho biologických pochodů (vyvážení buněčné energie, destrukce buněk a fi bróza) v rozvoji srdečního selhání. Snížené hodnoty kaveolinu představují cíl léčby; budoucí studie by mohly ozřejmit řadu aspektů působení kaveolinu u starších a obézních pacientů. V tomto přehledu se zabýváme významem kaveol u kardiovaskulárních onemocnění. Zdůrazňujeme i úlohu kaveolinu u řady kardiovaskulárních onemocnění.
Inflammation is one of the cornerstones of atherosclerosis. Galectin-3 (Gal-3) acts on the stages of the inflammatory process. Gal-3 is a candidate for being a valuable marker for heart failure (HF) and coronary artery disease (CAD). Further studies are needed for the diagnosis and follow-up of CAD. In the literature, the relationship between Gal-3 and CAD has not been researched sufficiently. We aimed to write a review by referring to recent studies about Gal-3 in the etiopathogenesis of CAD, its prognostic significance, and its contribution to the treatment regimen.
Zvýšený oxidační stres při cévních onemocněních stimuluje sekreci adipokinů z adipocytů. Řada klinických studií prokázala, že hodnoty adipsinu v plazmě poměrně spolehlivě predikují vznik ischemických příhod. Zvýšené hodnoty adipsinu těsně souvisejí s úmrtím z jakýchkoli příčin a s morbiditou.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
