ÖZET Çalışmanın amacı, orta öğretim kurumlarının 9 ve 12. Sınıf düzeyinde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin mekânsal düşünme becerilerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırma genel tarama modelinde nicel bir durum çalışmasıdır. Çalışma örneklemi, Çorum İli Merkez İlçesinde yer alan sosyal bilimler, fen, Anadolu ve meslek liseleri gibi farklı orta öğretim kurumlarında 2020-2021 eğitim öğretim yılında öğrenim gören, 400 kişilik öğrenci grubundan oluşmaktadır. Çalışma örneklemi tabakalı tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile belirlenmiştir. Örneklem tabakalarını lise türleri oluşturmakta olup, bu tabakalardan örneklemin seçimi rastgele veya tesadüfü örnekleme ile yapılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Google formlar aracılığı ile hazırlanmış bir anket formu kullanılmıştır. Anketin birinci bölümünde sınıf, lise türü, cinsiyet gibi demografik sorular; ikinci bölümünde ise Mekânsal Düşünme Beceri Testi (MDBT) yer almaktadır. Bu anket formu pandemi koşulları nedeniyle çevrimiçi olarak öğrencilere gönderilmiştir. MDBT’nin yapı geçerliliği açıklayıcı faktör analizi (AFA) ve doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ile de teyit edilmiştir ve MDBT’nin lise öğrencilerinin mekânsal düşünme becerilerini ölçmek için kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçek olduğuna karar verilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde demografik değişkenlerin MDBT puanları üzerindeki etkisini incelemek için veri yapısına göre Mann-Whitney-Wilcoxon (MWW) veya Kruskal-Wallis testleri uygulanmıştır. Analiz sonuçları MDBT puanları üzerinde eğitim görülen orta öğretim türü, sınıf düzeyi, LGS puanı ile coğrafya sınav puanı değişkenlerde gruplar arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olduğunu göstermiştir.
