The research aimed to describe the determining factors of the museological culture in the city of Trujillo, from the presence of the State in the promotion of cultural policies, encouraging on the other hand the growth of a capitalist economy, for the benefit of the expansion of concrete structures. armed, shaping the urbanizations of the city and disrupting the use of agricultural land, to attend to the accelerated demographic growth. The research is developed from two fundamental techniques, the documentary analysis and the survey. One of the most relevant findings is that the museological culture of the city of Trujillo is weak, because many times the idiosyncrasy of the city population leads to an interest in learning about foreign museums, to the detriment of local museums. In addition, the lack of a quality improvement policy in management would allow a weak museological research that would not fully allow citizen participation and interaction in identifying with their heritage and strengthening citizenship.
