Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, koronavirüs salgının, Türk İmalat Sanayi üretim ve dış ticaret yapısı üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektir. Analizlerde küresel salgının imalat sanayi üretim ve dış ticaretini 2020 Mart ayı ile birlikte olumsuz etkilemeye başladığı, Nisan ve Mayıs aylarında olumsuz etkilemenin artış gösterdiği gözlemlenmiştir. Alt sektörlere göre etkilenme derecesi farklılık göstermektedir. Temel ihtiyaçlara yönelik malların üretim ve ticareti diğer mal gruplarına göre daha az olumsuz etkilendiği gözlemlenmektedir. Diğer yandan küresel salgının yayılma derecesi ekonomik durgunluğun süresini, ekonomik ve sosyal refah kayıpların büyüklüğünü belirleyecektir. Karar vericilerin küresel salgının küresel, ulusal ve sektöre etkilerini en aza indirebilmeleri için, uluslararası işbirliklerini güçlendirmeleri, sağlık-sosyal- ekonomik ve politik alanda birbirini tamamlayan politika ve stratejiler izlemeleri krizle başarılı mücadele edebilmek için büyük önem arz etmektedir
Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, G7 ülkeleri için 1984-2019 dönemi için zaman serisi ekonometrisi teknikleri kullanılarak, G7 ülkelerinde toplam işsizlik oranı değişkeninde Histeri etkisinin olup olmadığı test etmektir. İşsizlik oranında histeri etkisinin olup olmadığı, işsizlik oranı değişkenin durağanlığı test edilerek ortaya konulmuştur. Birim kök test sonuçlarına göre G7 ülkelerinde işsizlikte histeri etkisinin var olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bu bağlamda, işsizlik oranı değişkeni için karşılaşılan şokların doğal işsizlik oranında kalıcı etkilere yol açtığı, işsizlik oranı değişkenin zamana göre değişen bir ortalama etrafında durağan olmayan bir seyir izlediği sonucuna ulaşılmaktadır.
