The coaxiality of the transmitter and receiver has a significant impact on the efficiency in a wireless power transfer system. In order to keep high system efficiency, a novel coil structure is studied in this paper. Several plane coils are crossed to make up a three-dimensional coil structure in the transmitter, which will make sure the system in the state of strong magnetic field coupling. In the theory part, the magnetic field equation of different relationships between transmitter and receiver is deducted in detail. In the simulation part, the performance of the three-dimensional coil structure has been studied. The simulation results show that the new coil structure can generate a rotating magnetic field, and the rotating magnetic field will keep the system in the state of the strong magnetic field coupling in the simulation model. In the experimental part, the three-dimensional coil structure has been compared to a plane coil structure. The experimental results show that the efficiency of the three-dimensional coil structure is increased above 10% in the misalignment situation. The simulated and experimental results show that the new three-dimensional coil structure has a better performance in the misalignment situation than the plane coil structure in a wireless power transfer system.
The coil stray capacitance is an essential factor for high-frequency coil application, such as wireless power transfer system. In this paper, in order to calculate the planar coil stray capacitance at megahertz frequency, the theory model has been built. Based on the basic capacitance calculation equation, the mathematical model has been deduced carefully. Then, the mathematical model has been evaluated by a series of simulation models. In the simulation part, the error of the variables of the theory model has also been analyzed carefully and quantitatively. In order to verify the theory and simulation model, the verification experiment has been done. The experimental results are consistent with the simulated ones and the theory model. The experimental and simulated results indicate that the theory model of the coil stray capacitance has a satisfactory accuracy, and the model has application potential in the field of wireless power transfer.
Abstract. A wireless energy transmission system based on magnetic coupling resonance was put forward for implantable device. Combining the calculation of self-inductance and mutual inductance between the transmitting and receiving spiral coil, the paper used circuit theory to model and simulate the characteristic of transmission system, the coil parameters including radius and number of turns can be determined accurately. The wideband Class-E power amplifier was used to drive the transmitting coil, its structure and working state were described in detail. Finally this paper carried on the experimental analysis to verify the theoretical derivation and system characteristics.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
