The application of floating car detection technology is one of the basic data collection methods for the traffic information system. The quality of data from floating car detection is affected by many factors, including the floating car sample quantity, distribution, the sampling period, the way to divide road and data cleaning method. These factors are crucial for the reliability of collected data. Data collected by floating car technology is comprehensive and flexible, including travel time, speed, distance, queue length and other parameters, of which the application of travel time is the most common. Besides, incident detection through the integrated use of multiple traffic parameters is efficient to improve the level of traffic management.
INTRODUCTIONSince the 1980s, America, Japan, Deutsch and the Netherlands have engaged in the research of the technology of floating car detection. Now, abundant achievements have been made in this field and the floating car detection technology has been widely accepted as an effective method in traffic detection. With floating car technology, operating on the actual roads enables collection of the information of real-time position, speed and distance. Besides, when the number of floating cars comes to a certain level, say 10%, and effectively covers a large area in the area, the data collected by floating cars can be applied to predict the whole traffic operating state of the region, including the parameters of average speed, volume, and traffic construction, which is crucial to construct traffic information system.
Aiming at the problem that the traditional urban traffic management system can't effectively integrate the data, which leads to the low efficiency of data processing and the effect of traffic management, a smart city traffic management system based on WEBGIS is designed. Based on the traditional system, the dynamic traffic data acquisition hardware module is designed. According to the weekly similarity characteristics of traffic flow data, the traffic flow in different time periods is predicted and the road signal is controlled. The WEBGIS technology is used to deal with the traffic accidents, and the effective management of the urban traffic is realized. Simulation results show that the designed management system can effectively reduce the congestion of urban trunk roads and improve the efficiency of traffic management.
