Mild hypothermia does not seem to substantially change acid-base balance as compared to normal temperature during CPB. Plasma lactate, however, has significantly increased in patients under hypothermia, suggesting inadequate oxygen transport to periphery during the proposed observation period. Low temperature, although mild, does not seem to offer the expected degree of cell protection to CPB blood flow.
RESUMO
CONCLUSIONS: Our study has shown that the addition of human albumin to CPB perfusate or as part of intraoperative h y d r a t i o n d u r i n g m y o c a r d i a l r e v a s c u l a r i za t i o n wi t h cardiopulmonary bypass has not improved pulmonary function.Since albumin is expensive, its routine use is not justified.
