The levels in 124Te have been investigated by studying the gamma rays emitted following the decay of 60d 124Sb. Gamma-gamma coincidence spectra have been taken with gates set at 603, 646, 709, 714 and 723 keV gamma rays by using 105 cm 3 Ge(Li)-110 cm 3 HPGe coincidence system. 69 gamma rays have been observed and nine of them are reported for the first time. Four new levels in 124Te at 2512, 2550.2, 2808 and 2814.5 keV are proposed. Levels reported in literatures at 2412 and 2733 keV are excluded from the level scheme of 124Te based on the present study. The experimentally determined energy spectrum of low-lying positive parity states, B(E2) ratios and electric quadrupole moment of the first excited state are compared with the IBM-1 predictions.

Abstract:It is shown that there is no evidence for the existence of levels at 1312.41, 1485.67 and 1698.34 keV in 152Gd and at 1436.65 and 1681.56 keV in 152Sm, which were recently claimed to be observed in the decay of 152Eu (3 , 15y).

Low-lying levels in ~9ZOs and 192pt are reinvestigated through 192Ir (73.831d) decay with improved system performance and counting statistics. Experiments show that gamma rays reported in literature with energies 1413, 1237, 1147, 911, 773, 629, 362 and 325 keV are not from the decay of 192Ir and gamma rays reported with energies 1200, 1056, 920, 904, 784 and 624 keV are resulted from sum-up or pile-up effects of low energy intensive gamma rays. New gamma-gamma coincidence relations are obtained with 105 cm3-110 cm 3 germanium detector system. A level at 1384 keV is established in the decay scheme and four newly proposed levels at 1118.31 keV in 192Os and 1146.95, 1237.35 and 1413.76 keV in 192pt are excluded from the decay scheme. Predictions of Interacting Boson Model on level energies and E2 absolute reduced transition probabilities are compared with experimental results.
