Introducción: La enfermedad cardiovascular es un problema mundial en aumento y con gran mortalidad. Aunque el trasplante renal exitoso reduce el riesgo cardiovascular, los receptores de trasplante renal aún tienen un índice anual de 3.5 a 5% de eventos cardiovasculares. El objetivo de este estudio es conocer el efecto de la variación del peso posterior al trasplante renal en el riesgo cardiovascular. Material y métodos: Estudio observacional, analítico, retrospectivo en pacientes con trasplante renal. Se caracterizó a los pacientes de acuerdo con la variación en su peso, considerándose tres grupos: pérdida de peso (GPP), estabilidad de peso (GEP) y ganancia de peso (GGP).
