Since Six Sigma Methodologies was introduced to China, many companies have begun using it to reduce errors, inefficient processes, excessive cycle times and cost overruns. Applying Six Sigma Methodologies to rural logistics processes can optimize the processes of agriculture industry. This paper presents a case study to illustrate the application of Six Sigma Methodologies in the process of rural logistics. Specifically, this paper takes the biggest vegetable logistics of Shouguang in Shandong Province as an example to state that the purpose of applying Six Sigma Methodologies to rural logistics processes is to reduce the average cost and streamline vegetable logistics. This paper also shows the Six-Sigma pattern of quality control, and points out the differences between Six-Sigma methodology and the traditional management method in the processes of quality control. This paper presents an overview of the Six-Sigma initiative at rural logistics.
