PALABRAS CLAVE: Comportamiento; Rendimiento escolar; Correlación; Educación a distancia. Influence of school behavior on the academic performance of students in distance-virtual education ABSTRACT The main objective of the research was to determine the influence of school behavior on the academic performance of fifth-year students in distance-virtual education at the Ana Reyna Muñoz Basic General Education School of La Unión Parish, Quinindé Canton, Province of Esmeraldas-Ecuador. A quantitative methodology was used, the study design was non-experimental-cross-sectional and with a type of correlational research, direct observation supported by the checklist was used to identify the school behavior of the students and a diagnostic test based on the four basic subjects to identify their academic performance in distance-virtual education, in the same way inferential statistics were used through normality tests and Spearman's correlation to obtain the level of relationship of the variables. It was obtained as a final product that there is a correlation between both variables as an object of study, determining that school behavior does influence the academic performance of students in virtual distance education. KEYWORDS: Behavior; School performance; Correlation; Long distance education.
Bullying and academic performance: a negative relationship for learning and school coexistence ABSTRACT The research aimed to analyze the influence of bullying on academic performance. With a quantitative approach, type of correlational-descriptive research, a non-experimental-transversal design, with a sample of 390 students belonging to two educational institutions. The data collection instruments were the Autotest Cisneros de Acoso Escolar and an academic performance test based on the “Ser Bachiller” tests. For the data analysis, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and the Pearson correlation coefficient were used. The overall results recorded a level of mild bullying. On the other hand, academic performance reached an average of 4.61 / 10 equivalent to close to reaching the required learning (PAAR), corresponding to a low level. Finally, a significant correlation of -, 184 was established in the “Antonio Neumane” Educational Unit, while in the “Metropolitan District” Educational Unit there is a non-significant correlation of -, 071; the global result presented a significant correlation of -, 103 between the study variables. Concluding that bullying does influence the academic performance of students. KEYWORDS: bullying; education; correlation; academic performance.
