Nambu PVA gel which is produced by repeated freezing and thawing of PVA solution has overcome almost all of the problems which present substances have: It is close to human soft tissue in MRI parameters. MRI parameters (1H density, T1, T2) are adjustable to some extent. It has appropriate physical characteristics. The important problem with PVA gel is long-term stability. It is assumed that this problem can be solved by its periodic calibration and replacement.
NMR-CT of whole bodies for urological lesions such as prostatic tumour, renal tumour, adrenal tumour and hydronephrosis have been obtained by a prototype machine manufactured by Toshiba Corporation since May 1982. The principle and features of this new imaging technique are reported, and clinical application in urology are discussed. This new technique for obtaining cross-sectional pictures through whole human body without exposing the patient to ionizing radiation, has proved to be useful diagnostic tool for urological lesions, and could provide us with information of the functional and/or physiological state of viscera. NMR-CT could also be an efficient method in diagnosing neoplastic lesions and will reveal their anatomical and pathophysiological natures in the near future.
SummaryIt is the purpose of this paper to introduce a method of cross section graphy of human body , especially of the chest , using widely popularized tomography unit , which can be easily performed even in medical insti ・ tution without rotatography unlt . 、 Patients were placed to be at right angeles to the movement plane of X . ray tube and the tube focus was setted diagonally to outward ( 10°−40°) and passed X − ray center through the cross sectiQn of the object and the center of X ・ ray 丘lm. X −ray film was putted in vertical under the object and in parallel to the plane of movement of X − ray tube. The film holder which was fitted up to Bucky instrument was setted to move in reverse to tlle direction of X −ray tube rnovement ,
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
