The pyrolysis temperature dependence of tensile strength has been studied for silicon nitride fibers produced by pyrolysis of perhydropolysilazane fibers in N2. The tensile strength of silicon nitride fibers increased up to 4300MPa with increasing pyrolysis temperature. Catastrophic drops in tensile strength took place following crystallization of Si3N4.
Three dimensional (3D) terahertz ( THz) imaging or THz tomography has recently proven to be useful for non-destructive testing of industrial materials and structures. In place of previous imaging techniques such as THz pulse radar, we propose a THz optical coherence tomography ( OCT) using two kinds ofTHz sources such as incoherent noise and frequency-swept sources, and demonstrate 3D imaging in the frequency regions from 300 GHz to 800 GHz.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
