Abstract:-The Boko Haram (BH) emerged in Nigeria in 2002 with the aim of total implementation of the Sharia law in Nigeria, yet there are other reasons such as socio-economic factors in the north-east where the group has been more prevalent. The domestic-based insurgent group became more sophisticated after its establishment of links with some international terrorist organizations (ITOs) such as Al-Qaeda, AQIM and AlShabaab. The group made its attacks to threaten the national security of Nigeria in the destruction of lives, properties and displacement of people and genders such as women and children. These displaced people have no option than to live in camps with serious need of social amenities such as health care. These camps are mostly provided, supervised and catered for by state governments and joint efforts of local international donors. This paper seeks to argue that the activities of Boko Haram led to destruction of properties, killing of people and also made most of them to become internally displaced without some essential needs in their camps, particularly health care for the women. To attain these objectives of this paper, a qualitative research method was adopted through which data were collected through documentary analysis. This study discovered thatwhile the government and some non-governmental institutions claimed to have provided some health care services for the gender victims in the camps, some of the victims debunked the claim. The paper therefore recommended that government and other non-governmental organizations should come to aid of the victims particularly the gender with health care services and other necessary needs for those internally displaced persons as a result of the effects of the activities of BH insurgent group.
To some countries, Nigeria serves as a place for market of their international goods and services, as such, her strategic position in Africa calls for concern on political, social and economic issues that may bedeviled the growth and development of the country. Nigeria as a country went through numerous challenges in the past such as the military takeover of political governance, from 1966-1979, and 1983-1999 when the military officers were in power. They handed over power in 1999 during the return to democratic rule that brought in the civilian regime from 1999 to date. The research paper seek to investigates the mystery behind the agitations in Nigeria that led to conflicts during the 2011 general elections and the agitations after 2015 general elections as well as the call for secession of the South-East region to create the Republic of Biafra. The paper made use of qualitative approach through the conduct of interviews, use of internet sources such as academic journals, online newspapers and review of previous literature as sources of data collection. The findings reveals that, conflicts arising from the 2011 general elections led to the continuous attacks on the Nigerian State by the Boko Haram insurgents, and the defeat of the incumbent president in 2015 general elections led to the new agitation for the secession of Biafra from the Nigerian state.

With the coming of the imperialists and subsequent colonization of the Africa, borders were created albeit artificially which became source of dispute between African states and Nigeria and Cameroon as well. The dispute endured for a long period of time until when Cameroon took the case to the ICJ and settled in 2002. The case officially was over but the displaced people of the Peninsula who are neither happy with Nigeria nor Cameroon and it has become a source of concern to the Nigerian and Camerooniangovernments. They have evolved into militants and the rich and well-endowed Bakassi Peninsula is gradually becoming unavigable. This article will look at the current situation of the people and try to advance measures that may end the militancy without consuming more lives and properties.
