Kereta api merupakan alat transportasi yang ramah polusi udara tetapi menghasilkan kebisingan. Jalur hijau sepanjang rel kereta menjadi salah satu cara mengurangi kebisingan. Oleh karena itu perlu dikaji efektivitas pola tanaman jalur hijau dalam mengurangi kebisingan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis sebaran Sound Pressure Level (SPL) dan frekuensi kebisingan, mengkaji efektivitas pola tanaman jalur hijau, dan menyusun rekomendasi pola tanaman jalur hijau yang sesuai untuk mengurangi kebisingan KRL di permukiman. Jenis tanaman yang digunakan yaitu angsana (Pterocarpus indicus Willd), pinus (Pinus merkusii Jungh et de Vriese), dan glodokan tiang (Polyalthia longifolia Sonn). Penelitian dilakukan dalam ruang semi bebas gema dengan mensimulasikan 12 pola tanaman jalur hijau mengurangi kebisingan dengan menggunakan alat pengukur level kebisingan Bruel & Kjaer tipe 3050 A 060. Pola tanaman yang paling efektif adalah pola tanaman 10 yaitu bagian depan terdiri dari dua baris angsana dan bagian belakang satu baris pinus, pola tanaman 11 yaitu bagian depan terdiri dari dua baris angsana dan bagian belakang satu baris glodokan tiang, dan pola tanaman 12 yaitu pada bagian depan terdiri dari satu baris pinus dan bagian belakang satu baris glodokan tiang. Ketiga pola tanaman tersebut mampu mengurangi kebisingan pada frekuensi rendah hingga tinggi yaitu pada frekuensi 125 – 8000 Hz pada jarak 25 m, 50 m, dan 75 m. Pola Tanaman 10 dapat mengurangi kebisingan hingga 14,83 dB, Pola Tanaman 11 dapat mengurangi kebisingan hingga 16,63 dB, dan Pola Tanaman 12 dapat mengurangi kebisingan hingga 18,92 dB sehingga dapat dikembangkan sebagai jalur hijau rel kereta api dengan fungsi mengurangi kebisingan.
