Este artículo examina las posiciones y la actuación del Partido Comunista en la Argentina en 1955-1963, período signado por la caída del peronismo, la Revolución Libertadora y el gobierno de Frondizi. En particular, se estudia el modo en que el PC caracterizó al capitalismo local como dependiente, atrasado y con rasgos semifeudales, constreñido por el peso de los monopolios extranjeros y la oligarquía terrateniente, y las razones por las cuales planteó la necesidad de una “revolución democrático-burguesa, agraria y antiimperialista”, es decir, una revolución por etapas, que postergaba para un futuro lejano el horizonte socialista. Se analiza la permanente convocatoria del PC a la formación de un Frente Democrático Nacional y a acuerdos con sectores de la burguesía nacional.

<p>La solidaridad con la revolución rusa y las relaciones con la Unión Soviética movilizaron millones de voluntades en todo el mundo. Los comunistas de la Argentina no fueron una excepción. El objetivo de este artículo es el de contribuir al análisis de aspectos de este fenómeno. Se exploran los modos en los que el Partido Comunista tejió vínculos (con el Estado soviético y con la Comintern), desplegó actos de propaganda y expresó un apoyo activo hacia esta causa desde 1917 y hasta comienzos de los treinta, alcanzando algunas conclusiones acerca de las características y la dinámica de dicha fuerza política</p><p><strong>Palabras clave:</strong> Comunismo argentino; Unión Soviética; Solidaridad; Propaganda; Década del 1930</p><p align="right"> </p>
Milcíades Peña fue uno de los más importantes intelectuales de la izquierda argentina durante el siglo XX. Propuso una visión marxista original y crítica sobre el pasado nacional, la estructura socioeconómica del país, la clase dominante y el peronismo. En este artículo, a partir del análisis de fuentes primarias, se examinan asuntos poco explorados: el modo en que Peña se insertó en una de las tendencias del trotskismo argentino; las características teóricas, políticas, programáticas y organizativas de dicha corriente; y la incidencia que esta experiencia militante tuvo en la formación intelectual de Peña. La hipótesis propuesta es que, si bien la producción teórica de Peña luego fue cobrando una extraordinaria lucidez y autonomía creativa, apenas puede comprenderse sin sus contextos militantes previos.
