As the P-CMM had its last update in 2009, the aim of this study is to understand the perception of specialists in relation to the temporal gap of updating the model, as an opportunity to expand and explore the application of the model in software development organizations. It was identified that the model is still considered current and is used by software development organizations. The theme is relevant to the community since human factors are often considered in the background by organizations. This research is characterized as exploratory, with a qualitative approach. The authors analyzed data obtained through a panel of 5 experts. For data collection, the questionnaire was used as an instrument, and content analysis was used as a technique. The results show that, although the model was last updated in 2009 (V2 0), it is currently in use. Twelve positive points were identified in the use of the P-CMM, as well as some difficulties in its implementation (excessive formalism, high cost, complexity). This work becomes relevant to the field of studies of maturity models itself, especially in relation to the Brazilian academic environment, in which works on the subject are still evolving and the volume of literary production is still small. Software organizations are the main stakeholders in this survey. These are constantly looking for teams that are more satisfied, motivated and engaged in the software development process, and a people-oriented maturity model that is current and recognized worldwide is a positive point in this quest.
One of the main challenges for information technology associations is to implement changes and improve turnover rates. The main objective is to map the main challenges for billing control and then compare them with the responses of managers of technology companies to the challenges encountered. The study was designed in two phases: (i) a literature review, identifying the main challenges; (ii) a survey to capture the 19 technology managers perception about the occurrence of these challenges in their practice. This paper results indicate that the challenges found in the literature are in line with the problems reported by managers regarding the turnover event.
