El estudio realizado tuvo como principal objetivo medir el pH de cuatro muestras de suelo, tomadas de diferentes lugares, con el fin de determinar cuál de estas poseía las condiciones más óptimas para el crecimiento de una planta y así conocer con claridad cómo se ve afectado el crecimiento de las plantas según el nivel de acidez que presente el suelo al que esté sometida. Este estudio es de mucha importancia para algunas actividades del sector primario como lo son la agricultura, ganadería y silvicultura, puesto que es necesario en las plantaciones de vegetales, granos y legumbres, reforestaciones y todo lo relacionado con las especies productoras de oxígeno. El método con el que se llevó a cabo la medición del pH, se caracteriza por ser sencillo y casero, pues los materiales utilizados son de rápido acceso, por lo tanto se realizó más de una vez para obtener resultados mucho más precisos. Lo que incentivó a llevar a cabo este procedimiento, fue la búsqueda de respuestas a preguntas como: ¿por qué algunas plantas no crecen en algunos suelos y otros no? ¿a qué se refieren cuando dicen que una planta esta desnutrida o raquítica y cuál es el motivo de que este así? ¿qué tan acido o alcalino puede ser un suelo y cuáles son sus consecuencias?
