Peak deformation appears to be present in nylon capillary columns and, as far as can be judged from published chromatograms, also in glass, copper, and stainless steel capillaries. In view of this, the small changes in partition coefficient attributed by Desty, Goldup, et al.(3) to gas phase interaction may be in part due to this thermal effect.
