EditorialWe are pleased to share with you good news about the development of Food Quality and Preference and, important news on the future development of the journal as the fields in which we work continue to develop and mature. Food Quality and Preference is the leading journal in its field, basic and applied sensory and consumer research and sensometrics. We cover a broad range of topics, and one of our goals at this time in the journal's development is to broaden the areas we cover in order to better serve the science and its application. Many sensory and consumer researchers are looking more broadly at their work, and Food Quality and Preference needs to be sure that its coverage of the field is appropriately broad as well.A glance at the issues of the 2009 volume indicates where the papers are currently positioned.
