The religious character building is very important for the child and must be done starting from the family environment. The family has a responsibility in educating children, especially religious education. Religious education provided by parents will be the basis for children to behave in accordance with religious teachings. Parents play an important role in the child's religious character building, such as teaching obedience to religious teachings. A positive parenting style will have an impact on the formation of the child's religious character, especially the democratic style of parenting, in which the parent gives responsible freedom to the child. In the religious character building of children, the role of parents, are, provide exemplary, habituation, and dialogical communication with full warmth and affection.
<p><em>Mandhasiya</em> tradition is one of the local wisdom that is still carried out by the Gumeng Village community in Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency. This tradition is believed by the community as a sacred and religious meaning, so the community is still encouraged to carry out this ritual. This study aimed at describing the reasons of Gumeng villagers to keep maintaining the <em>Mandhasiya</em> tradition, especially the local wisdom value of the <em>Mandhasiya</em> Tradition in the study of Hinduism education in Gumeng Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency and the implications of the <em>Mandhasiya</em> tradition toward Hindu communities in Gumeng Village, Jenawi District, Karanganyar Regency.</p><p>This study used a qualitative method with a socio-cultural phenomenology approach. The primary data were collected by direct observation and interviews, while the secondary data by the exploration of journals, research results, and relevant literature sources. The results of this study concluded that 1) The reason to keep maintaining the <em>Mandhasiya</em> tradition by the Gumeng village community in Jenawi Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency because of the desire to preserve the Javanese culture, ask for salvation to the Almighty God, maintain harmony among people, as well as trust in myths 2) <em>Mandhasiya</em> tradition have values of local wisdom based on the study of Hindu religious education, they are: religious values <em>(Sraddha),</em> togetherness values <em>(Tat Twam Asi),</em> environmental preservation values <em>(Tri Hita Karana),</em> sincerity values <em>(Yajna),</em> 3) implications of the <em>Mandhasiya</em> Tradition toward the society in Gumeng village, Jenawi Subdistrict, Karanganyar Regency is strengthening the community religiosity, strengthening solidarity, being involved in collective worship, and creating community welfare.</p>
Technological advancement affects human lives especially children. Therefore, parents play a very important role in educating their children to use technology in their daily lives. This study aims to describe the role of parents in providing education to children in the use of technology. This study applies descriptive qualitative method, where the data is collected through observations, interviews and documentations, which then analyzed qualitatively. The finding shows that: 1) technology advancement has positive and negative impacts on children, 2) internet use has both positive and negative impacts on children's development, 3) parents could address the technological advancement for children by doing supervision and direct the use of good and right technology.Based on the findings, it can be inferred that parents should have enough knowledge on the advantages and disadvantages of technology, ability to educate children in using technology, and ability to manage the use of technology for children, so that, the use of technology becomes something that is effectively positive for children's development.
The ways to realize the generation which has a character can be apply in the social education through culture values, social ideology and religions, there are in Ngendar' traditions that was doing by the children's in Banjar Sekarmukti, Pangsan Village, Petang District, Badung regency. The purpose of this research to analyze the character values from Ngendar tradition. The types of this research are qualitative which ethnographic approach is. These location of this research in Puseh Pungit temple in Penataran Agung areal, Banjar Sekarmukti, Pangsan Village. Researcher using purposive sampling technique to determine information, collecting the data's using observation, interviews, literature studies and documentation. The descriptive qualitative technique' that are use to data analyses. The result of this research to show; first is process of Ngendar as heritage that celebrated in six months as an expression about grateful to the God (Ida Sang Hyang Widi Wasa). The reasons why these traditions' always celebrated by the children's are affected from holiness, customs and cultures. Second, Ngendar on the naming the characters which is as understanding character children's with their religion that are affected by two things, the naming about religion behavior with way reprimand and appreciation through their confidence (Sradha) and Karma Phala Sradha. Next function is to grow their awareness. There are awareness that growed on their souls is to practice Ngendar traditions', as awareness conscience, have an empathy and love the kind. The third function is in Ngendar tradition was happened on the actualizations those appearance of the habits to doing kindness, actualizations appearances on their social activities and actualization attitude. The third result from the implication education character value were has in Ngendar tradition that do by the children's is implication religious value, implication honest value, implication discipline value, implication awareness environment value and implication the responsibilities.
Dalam pengenalan ajaran agama tidak luput dari peran orang tua yang merupakan pemberi dasar jiwa keagamaan, selain bertugas mendidik dan mengasuh kita. Dengan demikian sebenarnya tugas orang tua sangatlah berat, oleh karena kita sebagai anak yang berbakti harus menghormati orang tua sebagai imbalan dari apa yang telah dilakukan oleh orang tua kepada kita. Apabila kita selalu menghormati orang tua maka kita akan selalu mendapatkan kebahagiaan dalam kehidupan kita begitu juga sebaliknya apabila berdosa dan durhaka terhadap orang tua maka kesengsaraan yang akan kita peroleh. Hal ini tersirat dan tersurat dalam ajaran agama Hindu bahwa anak harus menghormati orang tua.
