The understanding of infectious disease emergence and transmission remains a key issue in public health and integrating how biodiversity and infectious disease dynamics are linked at multiple levels and scales is highly challenging. For example, it is not clear whether host biodiversity loss leads to increased (amplification effect) or decreased (dilution effect) pathogen transmission or whether responses are specific to the pathogens and/or environment being considered
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
