O intuito deste artigo é mostrar que artefatos tecnológicos que nos parecem no dia-a-dia neutros, intrinsecamente bons, produzidos tão somente para resolver problemas práticos, contêm relações sociais historicamente determinadas e obscurecem o conteúdo de classe das escolhas tecnológicas. Para dar sustentação a esta idéia, parte-se do conceito de Fetiche da Mercadoria em Marx e da sua expansão para o campo da tecnologia realizado por Feenberg, e o debate recente da esquerda no campo da tecnologia. O artigo conclui expondo as possibilidades de transformação da tecnologia capitalista no sentido de adequá-la a empreendimentos autogestionários.
ResumoEste texto trata do papel do engenheiro numa sociedade de classes. Verifica-se inicialmente que os engenheiros vêem de forma "naturalizada" sua inserção na sociedade: eles não percebem -ou percebem parcialmente -em que medida sua atuação reforça as relações sociais de produção capitalistas, qual o sentido do seu trabalho, se podem ou não contribuir para a emancipação da classe trabalhadora. Apesar de sabermos que há outras formas de atuação, nós nos concentramos na função do engenheiro enquanto "classe auxiliar" dos capitalistas no processo de trabalho. Para os que se desempenham como pesquisadores ou professores, apresentamos a proposta da adequação sócio-técnica como um instrumento que os pode auxiliar a trilhar caminhos para a construção de um estilo alternativo de desenvolvimento.Palavras-chave: Engenheiro. <span style="font-size: 11pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: Garamond, serif;">O REUNI, lançado em 2007, preconiza uma reconfiguração das universidades públicas federais que tem trazido “impactos” significativos no campo do ensino, pesquisa, extensão e gestão. Este artigo analisa os desdobramentos da proposta do REUNI, na UTFPR. Os resultados foram obtidos por meio de pesquisa bibliográfica e análise dos documentos produzidos para a adesão e implantação do REUNI. Verificou-se que a ampliação da estrutura física, a criação de novos cursos, a contratação de docentes, a expansão do mestrado e doutorado e a flexibilização curricular transcorreram conforme o previsto, entretanto, a relação aluno professor pactuada no acordo de metas e que resultaria em um processo de precarização docente, não foi atingida, pois o número de alunos ficou abaixo do esperado, por conta dos altos índices de evasão registrados.</span>
Do fetichismo da organização e da tecnologia ao mimetismo tecnológico: os labirintos das fábricas recuperadas Resumo: Neste ensaio, examinam-se os fenômenos das fábricas recuperadas, da autogestão e das lutas sociais no capitalismo contemporâneo. Inicia-se com um breve retrospecto histórico sobre esses temas para, em seguida, situar descritivamente as empresas recuperadas. O estudo tem como foco a análise das formas variadas de controle dos trabalhadores sobre os instrumentos de trabalho, e a oportunidade que eles apresentam para a autonomização das práticas coletivas de organização da classe. Uma de suas características inovadoras é a utilização do campo dos Estudos Sociais da Ciência e da Tecnologia para a análise dessas novas 'relações sociais', formas de controle e práticas de organização. Este ensaio é uma confluência das reflexões de três pesquisadores preocupados com as experiências atuais e pretéritas dos trabalhadores, onde o coletivismo e o igualitarismo apresentam-se como bases para a autogestão da produção e da vida social.
