Os hematomas parietais de alças intestinais por trauma abdominal fechado, determinando rápida obstrução luminal, são lesões raras e podem ser confundidas com afecções neoplásicas estenosantes (parietais ou por mecanismo de compressão extrínseca). Neste estudo é relatado um caso de obstrução intestinal por hematoma parietal da terceira porção duodenal pós-trauma e são discutidos o diagnóstico por imagem e o tratamento para tal obstrução.
Para o radiologista é imprescindível ter conhecimento da anatomia normal do crânio, uma vez que, ao analisar uma imagem de crânio, no pós-operatório neurocirúrgico, espera-se que o profissional esteja habilitado a identificar possíveis complicações inerentes ao tipo específico de procedimento eleito para cada caso em particular. Daí também surge à necessidade de conhecer os diferentes tipos de abordagens disponíveis para a neurointervenção, tais como a trepanação, a craniotomia, a craniectomia e a cranioplastia. O reconhecimento precoce de condições, algumas potencialmente fatais, tais como pneumocéfalo, hematoma, hemorragia, infecção e outras, pode mudar drasticamente o prognóstico, pois possibilitam intervir com mais agilidade. Para tal, se dispõe atualmente, de alguns métodos de imagem, dentre os quais se destacam a ressonância magnética (RM) e a tomografia computadorizada (TC), esta última considerada de primeira linha pela sua disponibilidade, rapidez, economia e compatibilidade com os equipamentos de monitoramento e dispositivos implantados, apesar de ter uma menor sensibilidade que a RM.
