This paper presents the stages of acquisition and processing of multibeam bathymetry data of an area on the middle continental shelf adjacent to Diogo Lopes (RN), Potiguar Basin. Were acquired and processed 60 lines arranged parallel to the coast and distant 25 km from the coast, each with approximately 11 km long and spaced every 40 m, with a total area of 29 km². The system used was a Reson echo sounder, model SeaBat 8124, operated at a frequency of 200 kHz. With the use of automatic and manual filters was possible many unwanted noise attenuation, making it thus possible the future interpretations of the shelf geomorphology.
