As unidades de conservação são territórios com diferentes possibilidades para o turismo. O Parque Natural Municipal das Andorinhas (PNMA), em Ouro Preto (MG), com sua paisagem de campos rupestres quartzíticos e cursos d’água recebe visitantes que buscam o ecoturismo. Contanto, o PNMA tem rica geodiversidade para a prática do Geoturismo, segmento em desenvolvimento que busca interpretar e conservar os elementos abióticos. Assim, o objetivo da pesquisa foi levantar o potencial geoturístico do PNMA. A metodologia se deu por etapas de escritório e de campo. A primeira contou com pesquisa bibliográfica e digital de Geoturismo e UC, e documental do plano de manejo do parque, além de elaboração de fichas de inventário e quantificação geoturística, a partir de Paula & Castro (2014) e Brilha (2005). Na segunda, houve trabalho de campo com inventário e quantificação de geossítios. Os resultados demonstraram que o PNMA possui significativo potencial para o uso geoturístico através das cachoeiras e mirantes, mas a falta de recursos financeiros e humanos dificulta a implantação de roteiros geoturísticos. Assim, espera-se que este trabalho possa contribuir para a sensibilização de turistas, comunidade, gestores e empresas para a importância da geoconservação via Geoturismo.
