Les deux fragments des actes des arvales découverts à La Magliana datent de l'année 38 de notre ère et complètent un procès-verbal partiellement connu depuis les fouilles de W. Henzen. Le document relate les services célébrés par les frères arvales entre le 25 mai et le 21 septembre, et apporte un certain nombre d'informations concernant le culte arvale et la religion romaine, mais surtout l'histoire politique et la topographie romaine. Ainsi nous apprenons que Caligula a accepté le titre de pater patriae le 21 septembre 38, qu'au Capitole existaient en 38 des statuae consulares et que l'autel de la Province Auguste se dressait sur le Campus Agrippae. Le procès-verbal apporte encore d'autres renseignements sur le culte de la Providence Auguste, sur l'anniversaire de la constitution de l'Ara Pacis, et permet de vérifier plusieurs fois la qualité du récit de Dion Cassius. Enfin l'origine des inscriptions, sans doute le dallage du chœur de l'oratoire damasien de La Magliana, permet de réexaminer la question du démantèlement du Lucus Deae Diae au Bas-Empire.
