Green house Management system has increased the scope of agriculture up to a greater extent. New sophisticated technologies are used to enhance the efficiency and profit from the crop. Real time monitoring and controlling of the environmental parameters are required to maintain the intended environmental conditions. Wireless sensor network is the emerging field which can be used for monitoring and controlling the necessary parameters. In the wireless sensor network the nodes take power from the battery which is of limited capacity. This paper proposed a modal which uses the AODTPC protocol of real time power consumption managing capability. The environmental parameters like temperature and Relative Humidity are monitored and controlled to maintain the intended range inside the green house.
Background: Gout, resulting from the precipitation of urate crystals in the tissues and the subsequent inflammatory response, causes an exquisitely painful distal monoarthritis alongwith joint destruction, subcutaneous deposits (tophi), renal calculi. The main culprit is uric Acid, which is a waste product formed due to purine metabolism. Gout Patients either produce excess Uric acid or are unable to excrete Uric acid produced in normal conditions. Uric acid lowering therapy (ULT) has become popular regarding management of gout. Nowadays. 2 drugs which are responsible for decreasing synthesis of Uric acid are Febuxostat and Allopurinol. The purpose of this study is to determine efficacy of Febuxostat and Allopurinol experienced by patients during course of therapy. Methods: It was an open, prospective, observational, non-invasive, parallel and randomised study, conducted at the Outpatient Department of Urology, Rajindra Hospital, Patiala. It had 60 patients of gout, out which, 30 patients were administered Febuxostat and 30 patients were administered Allopurinol. For each patient, history regarding drug intake was taken, along with analysis of Serum Uric acid profile before prescription and during follow up.Results: The mean age selected for study was 47 years for Febuxostat group and 43 years for Allopurinol group. Mean Urate (mg%) in pre-treatment stage of patients of Febuxostat group is about 8.28 whereas for Allopurinol group its about 8.61. Mean urate levels after 4 follow ups (10 days each) were conducted. The mean Urate level at 10, 20, 30, 40 days were conducted at each group which were found to be statistically significant and the results of Febuxostat group was found to be favourable. Conclusions: Febuxostat, (40mg) given at daily dose was found to have higher efficacy than allopurinol, at a dose of 100mg (zyloric) which is the most commonly prescribed dose in order to lower the serum urate level.
To determine the most common physical side effects experienced by local chemotherapy patients. Their perceptions of these side effects and informational needs from clinical pharmacists were also evaluated. This was a single center, observational cross-sectional study conducted at department of General Surgery, Guru Gobind Singh Medical College and Hospital, Faridkot, Punjab. A face to face interview was conducted. Information collected included chemotherapy related side effects after last chemotherapy experience, the most worrisome side effects, overlooked by healthcare professionals and the preferred method, amount and source of receiving related information. In this study, hundred patients were enrolled out of them 48 were male and 52 were female. When differential calculations was done, common side effects or adverse effects of chemotherapy in the patients of breast, lung cancer, Ovarian Cancer, Colon cancer, Prostate cancer, Lymphoma Cancer, Cervix cancer where there is much irregular medicine intake 57.4% may be due to common problem of joint pain reported by all the patients under study, with the consecutive problem of nausea and vomiting. The high prevalence of chemotherapy related side effects among local patients is a major concern and findings of their perceptions and informational needs may serve as a valuable guide for clinical pharmacists and physicians to help in side effect management. This study shows the common problems reported by the patients when they are suffering from cancer condition, according to their incidence perceptions as experienced by the patient, this will allow the physician and clinical pharmacist to effectively counsel and manage the common symptoms as reported prior to its occurrence in the patient, so that withdrawal can be checked.
