Der vorliegende Beitrag beschreibt – nach Klärung der grundlegenden Begriffe des Emergency Remote Teaching (ERT) und des Konzepts der sozialen Präsenz - eine qualitative Studie, die an der KPH Wien/Krems von April bis November 2020 durchgeführt wurde. Lehramtsstudierende wurden befragt, wie sie die Umstellung auf Emergency Remote Teaching (= die Umstellung von Präsenz- auf Online-Lehre aufgrund der CoViD-19 Massnahmen) empfunden haben. Ein Kernstück der online durchgeführten Interviews war die Wahrnehmung sozialer Präsenz, also das Wahrnehmen anderer Personen (Lehrende und Studierende) als Gegenüber. Gezeigt hat sich, dass die Studierenden der Umstellung auf ERT zu Beginn grossteils positiv gegenüberstanden, allerdings unter den mangelnden Möglichkeiten des synchronen Austausches (besonders zu Beginn der Massnahmen) litten. Dies lag vor allem daran, dass die Lehrenden an der KPH Wien/Krems teilweise mit den Anforderungen des ERT überfordert und daher für die Studierenden weniger präsent waren. Eine besondere Rolle spielten auch die asynchron erteilten Studienaufträge sowie das Feedback darauf, das nicht für alle Befragten zur Zufriedenheit ausfiel und daher negative Auswirkungen auf die Motivation der Studierenden zeigte.
