O presente artigo tem como escopo refletir sobre uma prática pedagógica exitosa, à luz da perspectiva de Freire, desenvolvida com pessoas privadas de liberdade/PPL inseridos na Educação Formal, em uma determinada unidade Penal, que apresentou como produto do processo ensino-aprendizagem, um Cordel falando sobre a educação no cotidiano prisional. A pesquisa foi de caráter exploratória e social, trabalho de campo, a partir da observação sistemática, depoimento oral e revisão bibliográfica. Os participantes desta pesquisa foram PPL, cursando o 1º Segmento da Educação de Jovens e Adultos-EJA. Os resultados apontaram na mente de corpos aprisionados também habita a criatividade, que deve ser mobilizada para vencer o aprisionamento e desconstruir os estereótipos vinculados ao homem privado de liberdade e que a educação é elemento central para o processo de reinserção social.
