Abstract.A coupling reaction between pyridine and dichloromethane has been observed in the presence of uranyl chloride and a base. The X-ray structure of the complex bis[1,1'-methylenebis(pyridinium)]-
The extraction efficiency of some perfluorinated phenols for the removal of Cs + and Sr 2+ from aqueous solutions is reported. The perfluorinated phenols C 6 F 5 OH and 2,3,5,6-C 6 F 4 HOH have been shown to extract 90 Sr 2+ or Cs + from aqueous solutions into a 100 : 1 mixture of toluene and pyridine in reasonable efficiencies, using radio-tracer and ICP-OES techniques. Additionally uranium, 59 Fe 3+ {as a model for Pu(IV)} and Eu 3+ {as a model for Am(III)} were investigated, with only iron not being successfully extracted.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
