Descripción del caso clínico: Hombre de 65 años, que acude a consulta de urgencias, por presentar hematuria holomiccional no formadora de coágulos. Se inicia abordaje diagnóstico, identificando antecedente de adenocarcinoma de próstata EC IV. Sin antecedente de tratamiento con radioterapia. Debido a sintomatología de paciente se realiza tratamiento quirúrgico, donde se reporta carcinoma escamoso de próstata. Por lo que se da seguimiento a evolución y tratamiento de paciente.
Relevancia: Se conoce que los pacientes con carcinoma escamoso de próstata tienen una sobrevida corta desde el momento del diagnóstico. Se tienen pocos reportes de casos sobre esta entidad y su tratamiento de elección.
Implicaciones clínicas: No se cuenta con una información suficiente que nos determinen el manejo de este tipo de pacientes. La incidencia reportada es mínima y no existe un tratamiento específico para estos pacientes.
Conclusiones: El carcinoma de células escamosas de la próstata es una entidad rara. Se cuenta con poca información sobre el manejo y el pronóstico en este tipo de cáncer es desfavorable. Es de suma importancia abrir nuevas vertientes de investigación sobre este tipo de cáncer.
