INTRODUCTIONCandida species are natural commensals of the human microbial flora, and it is considered opportunistic pathogen (Hallen-Adams and Suhr 2017). Studies on Candida infections in some countries showed that Candida albicans (C. albicans) was the most commonly isolated species with prevalence ranging from 22.3% to 60%. The misuse of antifungal agents has led to the growing antifungal resistance of C. albicans and the rise of non-albicans Candida species (Kmeid, Jabbour et al., 2020).
