A process has been developed for the triazine-promoted amidation of carboxylic acids. We have identified 2,4,6-trichloro-1,3,5-triazine (cyanuric chloride) as a cost-effective reagent for
this transformation. The procedure is a suitable alternative to
traditional amidation processes when an acid chloride cannot
be prepared from the corresponding carboxylic acid due to
safety, stability, or handling concerns.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
